MSU plays host to India’s artistic genius

The exhibition of innovative art works will begin today and remain
on display till Oct 14; works of 41 artists to be showcased

Marvel Art Gallery is organising a portfolio exhibition of art works
by artists from across the nation. The exhibition will be held at MS
University in Vadodara from October 11 to October 14.

The event will be an exciting affair for the art lovers as they will get
a chance to marvel the work done by great artists and talented workers.
KG Subramanyan will inaugurate the show and Haku Shah, a renowned
artist from the city will also participate in the show. Both have been
honoured with the title of Padma Shri.

The occasion will showcase a blend of work by eminent artists; variety
of work in printmaking such as woodcuts,intaglios,lithographs,etchings,
and serigraphs will also be displayed.This will include spot collections
from artists such as Amit Ambalal, Anupam Sud,Arpana Caur, Dattatraye
Apte, Jogen Chowdhary, Rini Dhumal, Sushanta Guha and Vrundavan
Solanki. Some of the prime auction houses, art galleries, museums and
fine art connoisseurs’ across the globe will also be present at the exhibition.

The gallery showcases innovative art works and educates people on the
nuances of fine arts. It also guides them on art investment, by distributing
informative and meticulously designed catalogues.

The affair focuses onskills of 41 artists from almost every part of India and
the portfolio includes artists such as Ajit Seal, Anandamoy Banerji, Dileep
Sharma, DLN Reddy,Hanuman Kambli, Kavita Shah, Nirmalendu Das, Vijay
Bagodi, Vilas Shinde, Walter D’Souza and Yogesh Rawal who are qualified
in printmaking from the top faculties of India and abroad.

Naina Dalal, who is a part of the show, has a retrospective demonstration in
graphics; another artisan Jayant Gajera dedicates more than two decades of
his research in printmaking practices.

The National Printmaking Portfolio is also designed so as to make the event a
memorable affair for its art appreciators.

It has been the biggest episode in printmaking ever witnessed by the art
fraternity of Ahmedabad. The organisers of the show now plan to visit Delhi,
Mumbai and Kolkata for the same in near future.

Where & when?

The exhibition will be held at MS University in Vadodara from
October 11 to 14. Some prime auction houses, art galleries,
museums and fine art connoisseurs across the globe will also
be present at the event.
