When Bey Yaar brought art closer to people
Artworks as shown in the Gujarati movie ‘Bey Yaar’.
Marvel Art Gallery and Cineman Productions joined hands together to bring art to people through the much successful film titled Bey Yaar. Talking about his experience, Chaitya Dhanvi Shah of Marvel Art Gallery says, “When Bey Yaar’s director Abhishek Jain met me and told me about the idea, I was very excited as it was the first instance where Indian contemporary art would be showcased in this fashion. I don’t remember any of the movies in recent years doing so and that too a Gujarati movie and a director having that fine sense of aesthetics.” “We immediately agreed to partner
on this and source some important paintings from my personal collection and few paintings which shall be created according to the demand of the script. It was very important for me to take care of each and every scene related to art in order to do proper justice. It took me over 2 months to research over 600 artworks, out of which 10 artists were selected and more than 45 artworks were showcased in the movie at different stages. It was challenging as here we were talking of the big screen – what will look good on the screen, right from colors to forms and other elements of art.
