Artworks up for grabs

A city-based art gallery is offering, among a plethora of artworks by
renowned artists, several masterpieces of M F Husain (serigraphs)
at a discount and even on EMI to celebrate its journey of 10 years in
the art business. Presenting a show titled ‘Editions’ till June, the gallery
will showcase artwork by 22 of India’s contemporary artists like Akbar
Padamsee, Amit Ambalal, Haku Shah, Jogen Chowdhary, K G Subramanium
and others. Art connoisseurs can choose from limited editions of their work
available from over 350 prints. “Our idea behind this show was to break the
notion that people have of art exhibitions being for ‘art collectors’ only. From
serigraphs, priced between Rs 200 and Rs 4 lakh, the gallery is offering a
discount ranging from 10 to 70 per cent and, even an EMI option of up to 25
months. While the lowest EMI is Rs 105, the maximum pay back period has
been kept up to 25 months. We are celebrating art by reaching out to a much
wider audience from students to senior citizens as well as thanking all our
supporters and contributors throughout these years. One can also exchange
old prints purchased from our gallery by showing invoice or authentication
certificate and we shall give any print of same value from the present collection
under art exchange scheme as well,” explains Chaitya Dhanvi Shah, the
