Many of our patrons, who know us as Marvel, might be wondering what made us change the name of our company, especially when Marvel was proclaimed as one of the most reputed art brands in India.
WHY THE CHANGE IN NAME
FROM MARVEL TO DHANVI RASIKLAL SHAH ARTS COMPANY
Did we incorporate new partners?
The answer is no.
Did we go through a merger?
The answer is no again.
So your next question would be – after years of hard work to build recognition, why would an established company change its name?
Well, the reason for deciding to change the name of our company is a very personal one. Years 2017 and 2018 have been very defining for me as a person, as an art curator, and as a seer.
In 2017, my daughter Dhanyaashree was born and ever since the moment she came into my arms, I have been wanting to gift something distinctively special to her…something that she will enjoy, cherish, and remember for her lifetime. In 2018, my father Dhanvi Shah completed his 20 years in the art industry. I wanted to gift something to my father on his celebratory moment. I wanted to present something to my father that he would appreciate, value and reminisce forever.
But which gift could justify my emotions for both the occasions? What could I create and offer to my father and daughter that they would remember for their lifetime?
The only solution that I could unearth was to ‘gift a Legacy’ to my daughter and ‘make headway with the Legacy’ created by my father. Thus I renamed Marvel after my father’s name as Dhanvi Raskilal Shah Arts Company. The name change is a token of love and gratitude to my father and my daughter from me.
The new name Dhanvi Raskilal Shah Arts Company reflects my identity, my roots, my culture, my heritage, my religion, my faith, my family and my legacy. The new name also bring a lot of vitality to the company, bringing in a lot of vision and simultaneously energising our internal team and our external customer base.
Here, I would like to reinstate that I have been very thoughtful about the process of changing the name of my company, that demonstrates continuity with the past, and that I am doing the right thing for the long term. With the new name in place, our company wants to emphasise on our philosophy and value proposition and energize our global expansion efforts.
Peace,
Chaitya Dhanvi Shah
